   明治天皇の時には 山県 大山 山本等の如き陸海軍の名将があつたが 今度の時は あたかも第一次世界大戦の独国の如く 軍人がバツコして大局を考へず 進を知つて 退くことを知らなかつたからです
   戦争をつづければ 三種神器を守ることも出来ず 国民をも殺さなければならなくなつたので 涙をのんで 国民の種をのこすべくつとめたのである
