"Recent developments in the region show that the Iranian nation has been able to find friends, supporters, and allies for themselves over the past three decades."
Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has said that former followers of the global arrogance (forces of imperialism) are now on the same front as Iran.
“Today, the Iranian nation’s slogans prevail in the region, and the countries that used to be followers of the global arrogance are now standing by the Iranian nation and are pursuing their goals,” the Leader said in Tehran on Wednesday during a meeting with a number of Air Force commanders and officers.
He also said that the Islamic Awakening movement in the region shows that the Islamic Republic of Iran is on the right path and its Islamic system is making progress.
“Recent developments in the region show that the Iranian nation has been able to find friends, supporters, and allies for themselves over the past three decades,” he observed.
“We don’t say that the Iranian nation has brought about the recent developments in the region, but it is also illogical to ignore the influence of the awakening of the great Iranian nation on the Islamic Awakening in the region,” he noted.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Khamenei said that the main reasons for the backwardness of Muslim countries over the past few centuries are negligence, stagnation, and lack of proper dynamism, and added that the antithesis of negligence is awakening, which spurs vitality.
“We should make efforts so that the (Islamic) movement gains more momentum than the momentum of the opposing front,” he stated.
On the upcoming anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution of 1979, the Leader said that the popular celebrations held to commemorate the victory of the Islamic Revolution over the past 33 years have been unprecedented in the history of revolutions throughout the world.
“Every year, and even in the worst weather conditions, millions of people across the country take to the streets on Bahman 22 (February 11) and celebrate the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, and it shows the continuation of the popular revolutionary movement,” he said.
“On this year’s Bahman 22 also, through the grace of God and the guidance of Almighty God, everyone will see how the people will enter the scene,” he added.
