  1. The core mission of Keeping America Informed, dated to 1813 when Congress determined to make information regarding the work of the three branches of Government available to all Americans. The U.S Government Printing Office (GPO) provides publishing and dissemination services for the official and authentic government publications to Congress, Federal agencies, Federal depository libraries, and the American public.

In 1993, Congress passed the U.S. Government Printing Office Electronic Information Access Enhancement Act (Public Law 103-40), which expanded GPO's mission to provide electronic access to Federal electronic information. In June 1994, GPO launched GPO Access, which provides online access to information from all three branches of the Federal Government. For more than 15 years, GPO Access has been America's source for Government information online, but now GPO is unveiling the next generation of Government information online with GPO's Federal Digital System (FDsys).

  3. I liked their clear subject/topic search.

well, some place still remain at paper age.
for a few paged document, it can create 3 to 10+ subject that only contained one,two or three words. those same word/subject are grouped/ programmed together and formed huge file for each subject.many popular subject could contain over 10 thousands documents,
the awful/mistake thing is that not all of them are actually related. they related by wording, but not related by same meaning from each other.

the worst thing yet is: it takes a long time to download result if they are popular words, even after load, No one is going to go over hundreds of them, because each of them is not even the actual document.
every end user will run away from this machine.
this machine is a huge monster.
the monster was created by human being.
